Located in Chikaar valley of Bagh in Azad Kashmir, Zalzal lake is highly under-rated in the list of lakes in Pakistan.

As the name ‘zalzal’ suggests, this lake was formed due to the deadly 2005 earthquake that wreaked havoc in Bagh and other areas of Azad Kashmir.

It’s located in the heavenly and ultra-beautiful Neelum Valley. Besides that, it’s fed by crystal-clear glacial waters from the surrounding hills.

Shounter Lake

This beautiful lake is located at a height of 10,200 ft in Shounter Valley of Azad Kashmir. Accessible by a jeepable track, Shounter Lake is surrounded by green grass vegetation, snow coated mountains, and variety of flowers.

Katpana Lake

This beautiful and famous lake is located 18 km from the city of Rawalakot in Poonch district of AJK, or Azad Kashmir.

Saif ul Malook Lake

Located in Nagar Valley of Gilgit Baltistan, Rush Lake is another hidden gem lake that’s worth visiting.

At 15,400 feet high, Rush Lake is Pakistan’s highest alpine lake, and therefore provides an amazing trekking opportunity to tourists.

The backdrop of snow-covered mountains make it a beautiful spot for tourists all around the Pakistan. Though not known as many other famous lakes of Pakistan, it’s a place you’d enjoy visiting!

Shangrila Lake

Located in Skardu, Shangrila lake is one of the most famous lakes to visit in Gilgit Baltistan.

It’s one of the three Kachura lakes present in Skardu district of GB, and is also known as the Lower Kachura lakes. The other two Kachura lakes, especially the Upper Kachura Lake, are also heaven on earth.

If you’re planning a trip there, know that the best time to visit Shangrila/ Kachura lake is winter as the water is surprisingly warm here compared to most other Pakistani lakes!

Attabad Lake

Attabad is easily the most beautiful lake in Pakistan. It’s one of the most famous lakes of Pakistan and also one of the top-most visited tourist points!

Ironically, it was created by a disastrous landslide that happened in the village of Attabad on Jan 4, 2010.

Also known as Gojal Lake, Attabad Lake is a located in Hunza Valley in the Gilgit-Baltistan region of Pakistan. This lake has probably the bluest water in the world, plus probably the best picturesque mountains in the backdrop!
