Defying Odds: Driver’s Daughter Tops BPSC to Become Assistant Commissioner

Defying all odds, the daughter of a driver from Quetta has made the country proud by topping the Balochistan Public Service Commission exam.

Maria Shimon, who belongs to the Christian community, will soon begin her career as an Assistant Commissioner after completing her training.

Ms Shimon is determined to use her success as a stepping-stone to providing her family, especially her parents, with a life of comfort.

Speaking to a local news channel, Ms Shiman said her parent never let money stand in the way of her academic goals, despite having a meagre income.

She said: “Despite low income, my parents have spared no effort to educate their eight children.”

“It would not have been possible without their support and blessings. My parents always motivated me. I would now want my parents, who did so much for me, to live a life of comfort.”
